Frequently Asked Questions

We have compiled a list of the most commonly asked questions in order to assist you with any decisions that you need to make. We also welcome you to contact us if you would like to speak to someone directly.

Question: What makes cedar so desirable?
Answer: Every piece of cedar we use is first processed by removing the sap ring of the log, leaving only the heartwood from the center of the tree. The heartwood of white cedar has a unique cellular structure that makes it naturally resistant to insects, decay and mold.
White cedar does not absorb moisture and its light and consistent coloring holds finishes well, making it ideal for siding applications. Once the hearwood is exposed the pieces are then dried in a kiln. Our kiln is specially engineered and designed to produce cedar in an Equilibrium Moisture Content System, which seperates our cedar from the rest.
Question: How much does an Ameri-Log home cost?
Answer: Because of the many variables in building a home, it is not possible for us to provide pricing at the corporate level. Factors such as building codes, transportation laws and site preparation vary from state to state and site to site.
However, in general the homes will cost around $115 to $165 per square foot depending on the options you select and the model you choose. These prices are approximate and subject to change without notice. Every home is different and only your independent Ameri-Log Homes builder can give you a firm price on the home that you want to build.
Question: What does "no assembly required" mean?
Answer: This is our way of saying that we build complete homes. Many companies sell logs and log packages and leave it up to the homebuyer to find the subcontractors to do the work. Ameri-Log homes are a one stop shop: We take care of everything from foundation to finish.
Question: Can an Ameri-Log Home floor plan be modified?
Answer: Yes. You may make changes to the floor plans. Changes may result in additional fees so be sure to consult your builder on what the costs may be for modifications.
Question: How long does it take to build an Ameri-Log Home?
Answer: Construction times vary with the type of home you choose, the site work required, the options you want, and other factors. In general it takes about six months to complete your home.
Question: I would like a more hands-on role in the planning of my new home, how involved can I be in the development of my new Pan Abode Home?
Answer: Our building packages are perfect for individuals who desire to control the cost and materials for their custom home, or the Owner/Builder interested in acting as his/her own general contractor. Pan Abode will provide custom design service, the structural materials, windows, doors, hardware and trim to build the custom home that we create for you.
Question: What makes Pan Abode Homes so exceptional?
Answer: We use and recommend Western Red Cedar, nature's perfect building material. It is famous for its extraordinary beauty, durability, resistance to decay, and the unforgettable cedar aroma that lasts forever. Not only does Western Red Cedar have the highest insulation quality of all structural woods, it is saturated with a natural preserve oil that repels insects and absorbs unpleasant odors, and renders it virutally immune to decay.
