We use and recommend western red cedar, nature's perfect building material. It is famous for its extraordinary beauty, durability, resistance to decay and the unforgettable cedar aroma that lasts forever. Cedar is saturated to every fiber with a natural preservative oil (methyl thujate) which renders it virtually immune to decay, repels insects and absorbs unpleasant odors overnight. Western red cedar also has millions of tiny air-filled cells per cubic inch which gives it the highest insulation qualities of all structural woods.
Pan Abode Homes utilizes four unique building systems: (1) Post & Beam; (2) Classic Timber; (3) The Phoenix System; and, most recently, (4) The Phoenix D-Log System. Please see the FAQ section to learn more about each.
Our building packages are ideal for individuals desiring to control the cost of their custom home or an owner/builder wishing to act as his or her own general contractor. The Pan Abode design staff will work with your custom ideas to design a plan for the home of your dreams or you can select from more than 70 floor plans which are included in our Custom Home Guide & Idea Book and make alterations as desired.
